Local patron offers two observation hives – seeking schools and partners to install hives. Share this how-to guide to get started.
– If your school offers many hurdles to bees, which is typical, but you are interested in changing those conditions, please add your voice to the effort.
– Please also forward this note on to any who MIGHT be able to host an observation hive.
A Portland-based bee-patron has offered to pay for an observation hive to be placed ideally, in a school, public preferred. Urban Bees and Gardens seeks community members interested in us to one day achieve this goal.
We have the funds for two schools located in SW Wash or the northern Willamette Valley.
Hive could be installed as late as October 2017, though spring or summer are bee better.
UBAG is also organizing a national best practices online forum composed of educators and other bee-community supporters to hone language and offer guidance to navigate the maze of institutions bent on blocking pollinator-based learning.
Eager for your responses to one day save more bees and teach our children well about them.
